  • LIVER DAMAGE: All hepatitis viruses can cause varying degrees of liver inflammation and damage.
  1. HEPATITIS A and E: These viruses are typically spread through contaminated food and water. Poor sanitation and hygiene practices are the main contributors.
  2. HEPATITIS B, C, and D: These are primarily spread through blood and bodily fluids.
  • Blood transfusions (with untested blood)
  • Shared needles or syringes (common among drug users)
  • Unprotected sexual contact
  • Mother-to-child transmission during childbirth
  • Tattooing or piercing with unsterilized equipment
